In March 2020, the LA County Fire Foundation launched the COVID-19 Relief and Resiliency Fund to address the first responders’ needs identified in the communities we serve.
In its first six months, the fund provided masks, sanitizer, cleaning products and raised $100,000 for equipment and software needed to implement new retooled electronic patient record devises (ePCRs) with telehealth access on all LA County Fire paramedic units. This equipment and software facilitated:
1) Better patient care through access to resources and doctors,
2) Increased efficiency through the intuitive portal and access to patient’s prior records
