LOS ANGELES COUNTY WOMEN'S FIRE LEAGUE (WFL)
The WFL advocates for and promotes the development of women in the fire and lifeguard professions through mentorship, training, and education.

Support the growth of women in the fire department. Learn about opportunities for advocacy and education. Help train the next generation of women in these critical public service professions. Promote a more diverse and representative work environment.
WFL Membership
General – Sworn
- Voting membership (Lifeguards/Fire)
- Executive Board eligible
- Access to general membership meetings and all member meeting
- Dues $20 monthly
General – Non-Sworn
- Voting membership (Lifeguards/Fire)
- Executive Board eligible
- Access to general membership meetings and all member meeting
- Dues $20 monthly
Associate/Affiliate
- Sworn or non-sworn members that want a non-voting/zero participation level membership
- Retired members can downgrade to this or keep their general membership
- Affiliate agency members
- Not executive board eligible
- Dues $10 monthly
The Women’s Fire League supports women who are in or aspire to serve in the fire/rescue services. Programs vary from year to year based on need/interest but have included:
Girls Fire Camp – A program centered on hands on experience using fire and rescue tools instructed by the women and me of the LA County Fire Department.
Women’s Fire Prep Academy (WFPA) – This annual academy provides a unique para-military experience for women interested in a career in the fire service. Instructed by professional firefighters, the WFPA centers around instruction and practice with common fire department tools and equipment.
